What Does a High Reliability Score for the ESTE® Assessment Mean?

In September, we talked about how the ESTE Team continues to refine the ESTE Is Innate Assessment based on the framework (see Figure) developed by the CEO and Founder, Terrisa Duenas, who, after taking the Assessment herself, was identified as an Inspiring Engineer. And we continue to hear from customers about their experiences taking the Assessment. The feedback has been both inspiring and informative!

Recently, we had the opportunity to work with Assessment Systems Corporation (ASC), which analyzed the ESTE Is Innate Assessment, specifically evaluating its reliability.

What does “reliability” mean in the context of an assessment? An assessment's reliability signifies the consistency and dependability level of the assessment’s results. In statistics, reliability is given a “score”. The higher the score, the higher the reliability. We are pleased to report that the Reliability of the ESTE Assessment scored very high! A reliability score can range from 0 to 1. Typical scores for reliability range from 0.75 to 1.0. The ESTE Assessment received a score of 0.91, which is considered a perfect, very high score!

The high reliability in the ESTE Assessment signifies consistency and dependability in its results. It means that the assessment tool consistently measures what it is supposed to measure, regardless of who administers it or when it is administered. Reliability ensures that the scores obtained from the assessment are stable and trustworthy, allowing for meaningful comparisons between similar individuals or groups. In practical terms, it means that if the same test is administered multiple times to the same person or group under similar conditions, it would yield consistent results. High reliability is crucial in making important decisions based on assessment outcomes, as it enhances confidence in the accuracy of what the assessment is attempting to measure. The high-reliability score received for the ESTE Assessment means that the questions measure the intended concept (i.e., Entrepreneurship, Science, Technology, Engineering; ESTE collectively) with high accuracy and precision.

Many of you contributed to the high-reliability score of the ESTE Assessment based on your collaboration, insights, and ongoing feedback. For this, we are grateful! Thank you for being on this journey with us towards our collective goal to empower our girls.
